ATC Green Product Management:

ATC is committed to providing green products that comply with various international environmental protection laws/regulations and customer requirements

I. Restriction of Hazardous Substance, RoHS.

The European Union adopted the Directive on the Waste Electronics and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Directive on January 27, 2003, requiring manufacturers to collect, recycle and properly dispose of waste electronic and electrical products. 2006/07/01 Formally implemented the "EU Directive on the Prohibition of Hazardous Substances in Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS)"; RoHS is regulated for electronic motor products with an operating voltage of less than 1000V AC or 1500V DC, and limits the amount of the following substances during the manufacturing process : The maximum allowable content of flame retardants such as lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyl (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE), etc. is 1000 ppm (0.1%), cadmium (Cd) 100 ppm (0.01%); and four new substances were added in 2015: bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), phthalic acid Dibutyl ester (DBP) and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) are limited to 1000 ppm (0.1%). The above limits are the legal basis for formulating whether the product complies with the RoHS directive (calculated based on homogeneous materials).

II. Halogen Free

By restricting the content of Cl and Br in homogeneous materials, the goal of banning PVC and BFRs is achieved; many international manufacturers adopt the standard of IEC 61249-2-21 as the management basis.

III. REACH / Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical Regulations (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical)

It was adopted by the European Council on December 18, 2006 (EC No. 1907/2006), and has been fully implemented since 2007/06/01. According to the requirements of REACH regulations, any one of SVHC (High Concern Substances):

a. When selling as a substance, you need to provide MSDS to the customer

b. As a substance in the mixture (configuration product), when the concentration of this substance is ≧0.1%, it is necessary to provide MSDS to the customer.

c. The SVHC in the product with a concentration of >0.1% and a total amount of >1 ton/year must complete the notification obligation of ECHA (European Chemicals Agency). REACH currently announces 201 items on the latest version of the SVHC candidate list on July 16, 2019.
